Designed as a practical solution for high capacity bulk material handling operations, IEC Shuttle Barges allow users to establish new levels of cost effectiveness and system productivity. By operating two standard barges for a total of 4000 ton at a time in shuttle, and subsequently replacing empty barges with full barges from the fleet, the shuttle barge reduces switch-out time, increases hourly tonnage, and minimizes cargo barge unloading delays. Equipped with heavy duty electric, electro-hydraulic or manual winch systems, the shuttle barge also improves operator safety by reducing manual labor normally required to connect and disconnect cargo barges. Time studies have proven shuttle barges can provide significant time, cost and labor saving benefits for virtually any type of high output operation.
